This fact alone may account for most of the gains you show.

He does have you on that one my friend.

Maybe I should post up my dyno action for you guys.

I find it so funny that no one, not RSS or anyone else can explain where the additional power comes from when in fact the intake has done nothing but change the velocity of the air passing into the intake. There is no increase in the amount of air getting to the engine as measured by the sensor. I guess some people don't like to hear experiences contrary to what they believe.

I can and have gotten 20+ hp more out a stock 996 by installing a 50 cent resister.

Voodoo is still probably the best word to explain this awesome power increase. But, if you THINK you got more power, then you should be happy."

If the quality of my dyno tests were similar to the ones posted by RSS.......uh ALL RSS IPD plenum numbers were on my dyno ....i think my reading conprehension is fine.
I haven't been following the posts between you two that closely, but are referring to RSS' "plenum"?

If so, I saw decent gains immediately after the install. We gave the ECU zero time to "relearn" the new component. We strapped it on the dyno, ran it, installed the plenum, then ran it again. I have the charts posted on here somewhere.

Before you question the dyno, it was on a dynapack. I'm not sure you can get more consistent back to back runs on any other dyno, with it being hooked up to the hubs. The dynapack removes most variables (strap tension, tire pressure, drum weight, etc) that are problematic on other measuring systems.

The debate is about NA Porsches, not FI.
