GREERJ1 is infamous around these parts
17" or 18" wheels for the track

2001 996 C2 3.4
I am running 18"x 8.5" and 18" x 10" for the street, looking for a set of track wheels, Are 17" wheels better for the track than 18" wheels? Why? What size is recommended for the front to compensate for the under steer?
Any help here would be great.
Thanks:
James

17" track wheels work great...

I'm running 225/45/17 in front (originally 205/5017) and 255/40/17 in the rear...

you can also run 265/40/17 in the rear if you like...

I run Michelin PS2 and love them... all the above sizes are available in PS2

i would go with the 18s since 17s may have too much side wall
i believe porsche track cars from the factory come with 18s

Find the lightest 18" wheel you can get and put some Pilot sport cups on 'em, that'll do the trick.
