don't panic!!! i went to the porsche web site to configure a new 997 and 997s - once you get by the base model; the car with options pricies out like former modesl -apprxox 90 for a base 997 --94 for a 997s.
so why all the concern about the future price of 996's - in the grand scheme they are still a bargain and don't have to drop in resale unloess people panic. i know resale is based on supply and demand - but really the 997 may be great and wonderful - but unless you are ready to buy again so what. if you can buy a 2002 996 loaded for in the 50's - are you really ready to spend 90 plus.
there will always be a differential between new and used, but remember the 996 is still a great car and will continue to be for years to come.
