Congratulations! That is alot of car for 69K.

As others have posted the X-74 and PSE will greatly add to the enjoyment of the car as will a B&M Short Shift Kit and EVOM's Titanium Shift Link.

Good decision on the Car. ENJOY!!!!

I had ordered a 997S but couldn't wait, so I picked up an anniversay with 4,000 miles on it, and in perfect condition... it's a car u appreciate once u drive... the package is amazing... and the looks are FAR superior to the new 997... I wouldn't hesitate a minute on a well-priced 996 Anniversary

You did good. I bought one last June that was stickered at $96,720 with every option that was available and got it for $80,000. You DO want to change out the exhaust and the PSE is a good choice. I went with the Fabspeed Maxflo that I am very happy with and picked up about 8hp as well as a very nice sound. There's really not much else to do with the car that will gain you a whole lot of performance.

Enjoy!

PSE would sound AWESOME on that car.. I drove one and you can hear the cams kick in at around 4500 as well nice machine... will get MUCH faster with age...

X74 suspension

To me the standard suspension is pretty stiff on the 40th anniversary. Probably a subjective question, but how is the ride changed when swapping in the X74 suspension?

Great question that I would also like to hear the answers to! I would agree that the ride is very stiff/harsh which causes the car to be a bit skittish at high speeds over the smallest road irregularities. I notice that there is a block of very hard green rubber inserted between the front coils. Does anyone know what would be affected if they were removed?

Thanks!

Wow, that's impressive: Porsche using the old trick of putting rubber bumpers between the coils to increase the spring rate? You can buy those at any sleezy parts store right next to the motor honey!

If you pull those out, you should have a softer ride up front, but unless you can pull them out of the rear, you probably wouldn't like the unbalanced results.

The less coils free to flex, the higher the spring rate, and the harsher the ride...

The 40th comes with a rated 340 HP stock but is only 1/10 of a second quicker 0-60 if memory serves me correct.... You'll begin to feel the difference when you climb up into the high end of your power band.....

Good Luck and welcome!
