Not sure but they are a dealer so the repairs should be up to par..

If you want to make the drive I can recommend Coast Line Collision in Santa Ana, they do all our cup car repairs and are a first rate operation. They are not your typical production body shop. Smaller operation but amazing attention to detail and very fairly priced.

They do everything from minor touch up work to complete collision repair and they do work with the Celette frame machine system which is a Porsche factory jig for chassis straightening.. Simply the best in the industry .

The number to Coast Line Collision is 714-625-7963 speak to Sal he is the owner..

Amato's in Sorrento Valley has done some good work for me a few times, on an Audi TT and an Audi A6. I haven't had any work done to my 996, and haven't had any work done at all in many years, but Amato's is a high-end body shop, always lots of premium brand cars there being worked on.

Thanks a lot guys... it is so annoying to see my car with the big dent on the fender... it breaks my heart... I parked it far away from the rest and at the corner spot where it's blocked by curbs on two sides and all the precaution for nothing.. that stupid car jumped the curb and hit me .. well at least I was told they'll give me a discount on Cross exhaust (happened at AUTOBACS parking lot) .. so we'll see ...

Not sure how bad the dent is in your fender, but I would suggest you might try a paintless repair facility. I used one to paint my '02 C4S nose and they did a great job. There are two in San Diego that are called BUMPERDOC.

I live in North County and used the one on Auto PArk Way in Escondito just north of the auto park ( 2035 Auto PArk Way 760-741-0300). They specialize in hi-end cars and did a fantastic job on my P-car painted nose. Very fair prices and free estimates. If you visit the bumoperdoc.com web-site you will see some of their work in video's including a porsche repair.

Good Luck,

demosan

THe two porsche dealers in town actually farm most of the work that they get to Amato's. They really are a very good shop and are used to doing high car dollar repairs.

hph,

I see what you mean.......... Amazing that the side marker and headlight assembly appear to be intact??

If you go into the BumperDoc website, there is a video tha tshows a boxster that gets hit with a 16# bowling ball and then is repaired with the paintless storation process of restretching the metal fender back into perfect shape without the need of repainting. It is a pretty amazing process. If you haven't seen it, I would suggest looking at that video. I am no body shop exepert, but the problem you will have given the color of your car and the fact it is 7 years old is paint matching. I have heard of Amato's as well, but if you ca navoid any painting it will be the most relialble reapir from a long term paint matching perspective.

I have no affilation with the BumperDoc guys in Escondito and I contacted them on painting my bumper as they advertised in the local SDPCA magazine the Windblown Witness. They also offer a discount to all PCA members and guarantee the paint for the life of the car. In my case, I brought the nose of my car into them as I was doing the "clean the AC condensor/radiator drill" and my car is Artic Silver. When they painted the nose they used the color chip code and painted and cleared a perfect job. When I installed it on my car, the paint didn't match and they offered to repaint with a custom paint mix once I brought the car into their shop gratis. Results, a perfect match!!

Were great guys to work with and the owner of the Escondito location is a Porsche owner himself. Enough said, I would have them look at the car and offer their advice as to what your options are. You may be pleasantly surprised they can work their magic on your fender without having to paint.
If you decide to have them give you an appraisal, ask for Cliff the genral manager. He will give you a honest appraisal as to wha tthey can do ( or can't do).

Thanks all for your inputs...demosan i'll keep your advice and point in mind..for now I am planning to go with Westcost specialities.. they have pretty good facilitiy and right down the street from where I live plus around the corner from work so it's oh so convenient .. I need paint for sure since there is a big chunk of paint scraped out and plenty of deep scratches all over the area...plus I want to change the fender ... its just in my head but I just don't want that part on my car anymore.. get fresh fender and get over with it... man I hate all this.. once again thank you all you guys for great advices and recommendations. You guys are the best...

Alright folks I finally got my baby back and I have to say the shop did amazing job. Color matching is perfect and the quality of work is amazing. It was done at West coast specialties in San Diego. One thing is I think they changed the right head light as well. Mine has litronic and it was replaced with litronic as well but to me it seems like a little more yellowish than my old left one. Has anybody experienced this when you change your litronic ? Does it requires sometime to settle and change color or something???? It shines as well as the other side and all but the slight difference in color is bugging me...any info is greatly appreciated...
