Is buying new guage faces better than actually buying a new guage cluster

I want to change the faces of my guages from black to Yellow. I drive a silver car, but my theme of the car is silver/black/yellow

I did the gauges for my Boxster with aluminum gauge face....easy to do, good quality.

 

i've heard horror stories about these guages. light bleeds through during the night, poor quality, f-ed up parts....interesting

 

Maybe I was lucky.....I did pick up in person and inspect on the spot....

2 of our Boxster owners have used their faces with no issues. The trick for the light issue is to wrap a thin piece of tape around the edge of the dial before you put the new face on. The yellow line is pointing to the black pin stripe tape we use.
