You can run this free, open source, proxy server on your personal computer. http://www.privoxy.org/ It can be configured to filter out blocks of HTML.

I can go into more detail if you wish... but want to be careful not to anger the sponsors, as they are the ones that essentially pay for this site for all of us to use and benefit from.

The board is nothing without us, the users. The sponsors pay advertising fees to get our attention and hopefully get some of us to engage their services. If the design of the board sucks so badly that people start taking extreme measures to either block some of the content or leave altogether, it's not us they should get pissed at but the owners of the board.

 

The way I see it is, 6 speedonline is a free forum that has never asked me to pay to use it, I do try to shop at the sponsors businesses to show my appreciation for providing this forum for my enjoyment. I don't think I have the right to complain about something that is free.

 

left side is distracting and to cluttered. Makes reading posts more difficult.
Make a separate page of adds ot put them to the right or down below, but NOT right in my line of sight when reading from right to left.

besides that I love it, but can't stand the left side of ADS.

 

Its one of those things - marketers most likely convinced the owners of this site that advertisers prefer the left side since our eyes are drawn to the left side versus the right. Advertisers will always pay more for where the eyes are, period. I'm going to put my ads on a set of **** and buy ad time at the top. Posts further down on your computer screen will never get visits. lol

 

Yep...hate it as well. It's hard on the eyes as well.

Thanks for the tip to teamspeed dot com. Never saw that site but it is baddass and allot easier to surf and enjoy. going to migrate that way for a while.
