When I first start the engine cold the electronic oil measurment is up 4 ticks, but when I run the engine to normal temp and check directly after it is flashing low. I then waited 20 minutes and checked again and the oil had risen to 3 ticks. What gives? Should I add more oil? What type of oil? Mobil 1 0w40?

The owners manual says to check the oil level when the engine is at operating temperature, after allowing it to settle (I usually wait 15 minutes). I use the dip stick--call me old fashioned! Mobil 1 0W40 is factory fill. Kragen usually has it for $4.99, sometimes with a $1 off coupon.
