Hardtop won't fit properly

Winter time once again...I am trying to put my hardtop on my 99 Cab and the two rods on the back does not fit properly all the way inside the whole although I have turned the screw-like metal to the green indicator line. There is about a less than inch gap noticeable...Any ideas? thanks.

The hardtop appears to ride a half inch or so off of the body line. It rest on a rubber seal and most people ask me of it is down all the way. I am assuming since you are making the winter time comment that you have used it before. I your rear mount posts are locking to the green lock point and the front is seated properly, than you are most likely in the correct position. My .02 .

I too have about a one inch gap. I asked the same question either here, or over on renntech.org or rennlist.com (can't find the thread) and others have said this is common.

this is only the second time I put the hardtop ever since I got the car so i don't remember seeing the gap before but yes, it seems locked since I heard the click when I turned it all the way. Since everybody else has the same experience, I guess it's pretty normal for the gap...thanks again gus.

I did try searching first.

Thanks.
