996 Colors Artic Silver & Aluminum look??

Going for the aluminum look on the interior of my 996. Is there a huge difference between the Artic Silver and Aluminum look color? Thanks.

KelvinC is infamous around these parts
Someone correct me if I'm wrong about this, but I believe that the Aluminum look actually doesn't have clearcoat on it. You'll notice a lot of Turbos and later 996s with AluLook center consoles with a bunch of scratches in them. The "painted" consoles and trim pieces seem to hold up much better to wear.

Unless that silver "unpainted" console isn't AluLook.

i was wondering the same thing because the center console in alumimun look is 850+ and the painted center console from bumperplugs is only 350+. Quite a bit of diferance

We can produce alumalook, arctic or any other finish, including something that looks like aluma but has our full 3-stage clear to protect it.

Yes, most of our painted trim is much less than the factory. We can't charge $800 for something that should be under $400 - that is ridiculous. But read our testimonials, especially from dealers who get to see our work vs factory - and we win every time.

Just email me for details, pics, etc.

Until the '02 production year, alumalook WAS Arctic. Yep. Just a toned down clear. Then the formulation changed, and from '02 forward, it was a different formula (we've duplicated it). You can find it on the button of the upgraded brake handle, on the shifter, on some trim, etc.

We've also recently duplicated the Galvano finish, but it's a monster to produce.
