Roll bar end link - corvette substitute?
Roll bar end link - corvette substitute?
I have a set of left over Corvette aftermarket SS adjustable end llinks. They are fully adjustable to the 996 C4S ranges. They are all SS, solid pivot ***** and are Much beefier than the Porsche's. The only restriction for them being dropped right in is the diameter of the the mounting bolts. They could be drilled out to accomidate and the roll bar contact bushing could easily be cut down to adjust for the roll bar end thickness. They are only about $130 for 4. Has anyone else thought about this application for the Porsche? I can't think of much of a downside for drilling out the roll bar and the suspension mounting points by about 3mm. This is only for the rear roll bar.
Looking for thoughts.
Thanks

That might work for the rear.
In the front, the upper link bolt actually clamps the knuckle to the strut, I wouldn't want to drill that any larger. Looking at the corvette links, I don't think they have enough articulation for the front axle of a 996.

The Vette uses the same size links all the way around and are not long enough for the front of 996. Too bad though they are about 1/3 the cost of the Porsche afternarket links.
