Hi,
Could you please post a picture of your Magellan Nav.?
I would also like to have a integrated nav., like the Kenwood, but it would mean that I would lose my 6CD changer becauseI have the MOST technology.
Thanks,
Mike

I didn't have the Bose system....So It was easy to swap out the head unit and integrate it with the stock system...for a nice improvement in sound quality as well. The kenwood sounds better by far than the stock system. Yes all the computer functions still work, it does nothing with that stuff.
Mike,
It came with the unit. I would call them and ask for tech assistance and they can sell it direct. I did not mount, but the part of the dash under the radio is going to have to come out I think.

I have the Pioneer AVIC- 80DVD NAV system in my car and I love it. It's voice activiated, has a touch screen, is very accurate, plays movies and the install looks almost factory if done by the right person.
I highly recommend the Pioneer Nav units to anyone looking for an aftermarket solution. My install was done by REUS audio in Orange, CA and I couldn'be be happier!! They also did my audio system. BTW- I live in Florida and they traveled to me. They have awesome installers and after sale customer service and support.
Good luck!

good profile on the kenwood unit Newport.
I was thinking of getting rid of my Alpine set up in my 996 TT because there were too many seperate components. I like the Idea of having all options controlled by a single touch screen head unit. couple of questions if you do not mind?
Is the Nav DVD based or do you need to buy region specific CD's?
You mentioned the units compatability with Sirius. is this the only option or can XM be used instead?
Thanks..

This is DVD based...its a seperate unit that mounts like a changer...Put in th eDVD and forget about it. Others have to have th eDVD put in th ehead unit in the same drive as the CD player, not this one. It just says Sirius, at this point. XM can be used and a controller wired into one of its inputs, but it wont be controlled from the touchscreen. If you have ever used the Lexus Nav systems in the GS or LS cars then the Kenwood is identical. Must have liscenced it from the same place. Like I said, I was looking at all the options and if you are gonna go with Nav, then this is the way to go...This is the most capable head unit....oh the model number is DDX 7015.
