4.6 lt 996 engine mod by meridian?

Does anyone know or have experience with the 4.6 liter engine modification advertised by Meridian Auto in LA? Is this a bored and stroked P96 engine? Will

I think they use an aftermarket block instead of just boring and stroking the stock block.

That's a big jump, you sure it's not a typo?

Meridian Auto

I have seen the ad several times in the Dupont Registry and they even show a picture of the engine, and it looks like a Porsche flat 6. It is not detailed on their scant website. I suppose I could call them but just curious. Will

all i can say is HAHAHA. let's see it baby. it's definitely possible, but there is no way in hell the engine casing could handle it. it's crazy enough to try to put a blower on it, but a 4.6 yeah right. you'll get like 1000 miles on it and i couldn't imagine the tuning issue that will come about.

maybe they offer the one from Koro? i know they do bigger displacement engines for P96, like a 4-liter and such. not exactly sure that they offer a 4.6, but for some reason that doesn't seem to be too foreign of an idea to me for something from Koro. maybe they're distributors of Koro...cause I didn't think that Meridian was a hardcore engine builder who has come up with something like that (not bashing them, just saying that they modify benzes too...you know, those slushbox trains which pose as sports cars )

hmm yes i see on the website. i stand corrected. then i have no idea what Meridian is offering....

btw, do you know how much a Koro engine for the MKII GT3 costs? 4 to 4.6l doesn't matter, just wondering how much these cost cause they're blazingly quick!

I can only image what it costs since a new factory stock GT3 engine is as much as a new honda accord...

my guess would maybe be $50,000-70,000 US dollars? anyway, yes would love to hear what response you get from meridian.

i believe it's about 16-20k with a core exchange on the 4.0/4.2. since a gt-3 engine goes for about 30k your looking around 45-50k for the 4.6.

just found that other companies such as "Albert Fahrzeugtechnik und Design" and "Niederhof Kohlefasertechnik" also make bigger engines with some over 4-liters. i guess Koro isn't the only one who makes bigger engines. maybe these are what meridian is doing? or maybe its their own designed engine kit

Spoke to EBS Racing www.ebsracing.com today and they can bore and Nickel-Ceramic plate the 996 cyliders to accomodate a larger piston to 3.5L without head gasket modification for about $2k with JE pistons (plus your mechanics labor) or to a 3.6-3.8L with head work. Anyone know of anyone that has done this. Headers, ECU, catbypass on a 3.5L should be a hotrod. Sounds like for $4-5k you could run with a 997 without resorting to a supercharger.
