Stereo just says 'Porsche'

I have an '03 C2 with 8700 miles. Since I don't drive it much, I disconnect the battery when it's just sitting. Today, I reconnected the battery and the stereo display says 'Porsche' like it always does when I turn it on, but now nothing else is happening no matter what button I press. The owner's manual doesn't address this at all. Did I somehow fry the stereo? Anyone ever see this before?

Thanks,
David

I read somewhere it could take up to an hour for it to ask for the code.

This happened to me a month or two ago and I found a thread on Renntech that solved it. I can't remember who started the original thread.

Disconnect the battery cables from the posts, cover the posts with a towel, then connect the cables with a jumper cable to create a loop. Leave it like that for about 30 minutes and then reconnect the battery.

I get it too sometimes, I just lock the car and an half hour later it works again.

Glad you got it fixed...the codes for >03 are stored in the DME...so no need to enter a code unless you replace the head unit or the DME.
