I recently purchased a B&M short throw shifter part # 45183. It is the various bracket kit that get installed from under the car. B&M said it will reduce my shifting throw by 30%. My mechanic recomends the consoul installed unit. Does anyone have this shifter????

i put this in few yrs ago in my 02 996 NB-haven't had any issues after few install problems that have been discussed on line before. I installed it with most throw reduction- there are 2 holes- one less, one more.
had issues with putting cable into new B&M bracket but got it installed after dremeling it out just a bit- (B&M did send me another bracket but i never tried it). other issue-- after installing full kit on trans - it would not go into 2nd fully- one of parts was preventing trans from moving fully- loosened parts and reinstalled & then worked fine. Have had no issues over last 18 month with it- never had in car unit so i can't compare-
