Wow... there's a whole lot of hatin' going on... Unbelievable... But yup, here too... I find on whatever board, Rennlist, PCARs, that it's the 996 guys that help the most and trash the least...

Best to let the children play alone in their own sand box. Leave them be and walk on by.

It is true. I think I own one of the ugliest versions of the 911 haha

Sad but true. At least you guys with the facelift look pretty good.

Edit: I think by getting rid of all the amber it looks a little better. A 996 with all the ambers still look horrible.

Then sell it and buy what you like. It's a shame to own something you're ashamed of.

Some guys gotta have the latest and greatest. If the guy loves the 993 so much (and I think it's pretty terrific too), why the heck doesn't he buy one instead of getting the 997. FWIW, I like the rear fenders on the 997, but prefer the headlights on the 996. Other than that, it's still a 911 and I still think it's a terrific car. They ALL are. But I sure won't be trading my car for a newer model.

+1 on the headlights - I don't know what all that negativity was about and it doesn't bother me that they were shared with the Boxster... Personally, I prefer the 996 headlights over the 997 AND 993 headlights... because, in a lot of ways, the 997 and 993 headlights don't look all that different from the headlights on the VW Bug (take that). But seriously, as much as I love my 996, if the right opportunity popped up where I could get ANOTHER car, of one (997) or the other (993), I would... and still keep my starter Porsche...
