Hard top hoist

Anybody use hard top hoists to hold their hard tops when not in use? I'm kinda nervous about letting it hang up there by itself. Plus even with the hoist you still need two people to put it on.

I used the hoist each summer for 2 years. It does require 2 people, but if you line the car up under the hoist, it is an easy task for one person to lower it almost to where you mount it.

Also, someone mentioned that the clamps would put a permanent dent in the material around the hardtop, but that is not true.

It was a couple of years ago. I believe it was from www.performanceproducts.com but I don't remember the price...something like $200+. Comes with a hand crank or a power one. Have all the info at home. I've got more detailed pics that I can email to you.

The one I got was $170 plus shipping. It is pretty nice and has a aluminum bar and webbing to hold it. I saw the one Don has and was afraid if those hooks and no support underneath. You can see the one I have at http://www.removabletops.com/

Here's a link to the rest of my hoist pics. The writing on the soft hooks just represent location (DS=Driver's Side, etc) only because the straps require some adjustment the first time in order to keep the hardtop level.
