To make any 996 owner happy
To make any 996 owner happy
I just poked around EBay and AutoTrader for some current RETAIL prices. I feel much better now that I see 996s with 30-60k miles listed for 25-32k.....yes even our plagued 1999s....even saw one for 41k what a pipedream...yes there were some under 20k but not from any Stealership....and they were mileage over 60k
BTW I have never seen so many 996/997s of all variants for sale.....definitely signs of our wonderful USA Economy.
But the really good news, I was looking at 2006-2008 GT3s that are priced in the 75-95k with very very low miles....I guess these prices will continue to drop as the new MK2 GT3 arrives here in USA
I may have to consider trading up to one, 415 HP just has to be more fun than 300-325hp....to say the least and who would argue that a 997 GT3 is uglier than and NB plain jane C2...not me
Prices please keep falling on these higher end Porsches......getting ready to be a great time to purchase. I feel bad for owners that paid MSRP or over...what a hit they are taking.

I too was checking out ebaymotors.com the other night. Surprisingly though, I see prices stabilize a bit on early model 40-60k miles. I paid approx. $32 for mine with lots of mods (not the body mods you see in my avatar), with a reman engine (RMS & IMS failure), and only 45k miles at the time (on the body, only 16k on the engine). Nine months later, there are plain jane early C2 996s for high 20s with a lot more miles and no reman engine or mods. I'm still not ready to invest in a 997 though.
