1999 996 Ignition switch problem ?

Hi Guys
i have a 1999 C2 cab, last night about 50 miles from home i get in the car try to start and it turned with plenty of power but seemed like it had no gas or spark,i fooled with it for a while and it finally started, the ignition switch hasnt felt right lately,i did have it replaced about 7 months ago,i know these go bad, does it sound like a faulty switch or something else,it is working now but i dont want to get stuck again

Thanks in advance for any info

Albert

That doesn't sound like a bad switch if the engine is cranking. On my previous car when the switch failed the key would not turn. You have other issues, thats not saying the switch isn't failing as well.
