Just for Fun
Nice replies, my comments so far...
M3 is a Porsche level sports car and is really considered on the edge for being too expensive. I think I should have clarified my question more and given a price range or a cap of $45K or $50K.
The S4 rules, but is not a sports car.
It's a sedan or sports sedan.
We could start another thread on those.

We bought Sharon the G35 coupe and love it for what it is and that's a sport tourer. Very fast and stable but a bit heavy. Maybe I'd take it to the track if it was a 6 speed and had the Brembro brakes.
I think if you wanted more of a sports car the RX8 would be interesting.

Bart, that's why I would go w/ the 350z. The track model is pretty nice and for just a few thousand more, you can really fix it up for the track by putting on larger rubber and a tighter suspension.
I agree as well Gary. I personally care more about trackability (is that a word?) than looks.
The G35 is a GT car, and the 350z is more of a true sports car IMO.
I prefer sports to GT 9 times out of 10.
