New GAHH top with glass window - "guard flap"?

A local upholstery just finished installing a new canvas top from gahh.com -- the one with the small glass window. Nice fit and looks great!

Does anybody have a Gahh top? The canvas isn't folding quite correctly when putting the top down. A call into the VP of Gahh says I need to install a cabrio "guard flap", which is available from Porsche.

Anybody else run into this problem? Did the "guard flap" solve it?

Here's the guard flap photo emailed by the GAHH VP.

Just spoke with Jack over at Gahh. The part number is 996.561.265.01
Rick over at Suncoast says the nbr corresponds to 1999-2001 (MK1). What's weird is, this part is NOT listed in the PET along with the other cabrio top photos. It's in the "hydraulic" section.

Seems that mine is missing. Doh!

its a $20 dollar part, all it does is protect the top from getting caught on the locking mechanism, i dont think helps folding the top though

Thanks Omar. Ric from Suncoast is sending one next week. If it doesn't do the trick, then I'm going to be pissed! $2500 for top & labor, the #@$#@ better open and close like butter!

Hi Steve. Here's the shop. All the dealerships send their work there. Ask for Cary. He did my install.
Website is http://www.turnerupholstery.com but looks like they haven't paid their bill.
