C4S tailight stress cracks?

I have been looking for a C4S and 4 out of the 5 I have looked at have stress cracks or just small cracks in the taillights. One of them had cracks on both sides almost in the exact same place. The others only had one side cracked. It this common? I don't think I have seen a narrow body with these cracks. These cars range from MY02 to 04.

I have no idea what you're talking about - no cracks whatsoever - they are held on by 2 bolts, so I'm not even sure where the stress cracks would be. Maybe you are seeing scratches?

'02 C4S with 55k miles and no stress cracks. However the third brake light was a POS and fell apart when I tried to change the bulbs.

The ones I see are vertical lines that kind of run with the grain of the plastic. From top to bottom.

its one or two that run parallel on the clear portion right? i have them on my r side c4s taillight. narrow body tails can get them too. i guess prolonged sun exposure is the cause.

I have two stress cracks about 1/2 long, vertical, on the top of both sides of the taillights. I guess my only option is to replace the lights. Is there a LED option for a 996 C4S, that anyone knows of?
