HRE wheel repair?

So I recently purchased a SY 996 Cab and it came with a lovely set of 19" HRE 542R's on it. However, the rim part needs to be redone on all 4. As well as the chrome on one of the wheels. My question is: Is it best to ship them to HRE because they're the "only ones" who can service them? Or can I take them to a local shop to have them done? Also, would you redo the chrome at HRE or locally?

If I ship to HRE, I have to buy an extra set of wheels...highly inconvenient unless my 540i wheels will fit (haven't checked).

Hello SY996CAB,

Give us a ring here at HRE and ask for Vince. 760-598-1960. I would really recommend that they come here. We do not straighten or repair bends. The most cost effective solution long term is to simply replace the parts. If they are heated and straightened, or worse, turned on a lathe, you WILL have issues down the road. Probably sooner than later.

Gives us a ring and I think you'll find that we may be a little more up front, but it will be done right and we will stand behind the repairs.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Also, the BMW wheels will not work on the Porsche. They are two different bolt patterns.

I had some hre 590R'S that needed a lot of work to them, bad curb rash and even a small hairline crack, went to group 5 motorsport. They contract out to a guy who literally made them look brand new again. Only 100 per wheel.
