Installed new radio now chirps when locked

2000 911 Cab, any ideas? I installed a new HU and now when I lock the car it gives a little honk of the horn as if something is not secured. Is it sensing the radio is gone? No idea here.

Hi,

I had the same problem and we needed 2 hours to find it out. Original radio has a anti theft system at one side. You must only give tape on that metal piece and the soun will be gone. I cant help you with photo where, but look at the original radio and you will find that spot.

Kras

If I'm not mistaken, this is the OEM wire that connects to the OEM head unit. I think I ended up taping mine so it did not come in contact with any metal. Can anybody confirm this? (BTW, this photos is from a 2000 C2 Cab.)

^^Correct. Simply put some tape on it to seal it. Make sure it doesnt touch any metal.

Interesting. I don't recall seeing a separate wire like that. Thanks for the pic and info though.
