Twin turbo kits for 996 and 997

5 Attachment(s)
Gentleman,

There has been a lot of interest on turbocharging the 996 and 997 for more power. We had been spending our time on building a kit for the GT3
which is now completed, and in the last few months have decided to move on to the 996 and 997. So, here we are with a nice twin turbo kit using the latest in turbocharger technology and wastegates to boot. The turbos are twin ball bearing Garretts, Tial external wastegates, 6 new injectors, and twin water to air intercoolers that work very well in lowering and maintaining charge temps. We have used our past experience in developing a kit that not only delivers the performance, but is also of high quality in components and workmanship.

You may have seen some pics on boochoock's thread of the kit. A lot of time in the design and engineering of the kit went into making it extremely easy to install so the DIY'er can do this at home in his garage. On the same token it is completely reversable and you can make the car run N/A in a matter of hours. We are very proud of that with the only major changes to the car being two 3" holes cut for charge hose routing, which are in the same location as the stock TT hoses. Two body plugs would cover them up and no one would know the difference. We are very particular about cutting up a car and not being able to reverse the changes, and surely there are quite a few of you out there who feel the same.

Hope that we can contribute in making the cars better and faster so you guys can enjoy them more. Think about it is like a new girlfriend that you need to discover everything about her.http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...es/biggrin.gifhttp://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...es/biggrin.gifhttp://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...es/biggrin.gifhttp://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...es/smLach2.gif

Ivan, few questions of general interest...:

- Which MAF do you use?
- Who does the tuning?
- Are those air cleaners your own product, or widely available?

Nice work anyway!

This might have been discussed on other posts, what kind of ballpark are we looking at?

Ivan, congratulations on a great looking product. I can't wait to hear more details about the 996 application. I'm sure that everyone would love to see a video of that beast in action. Thanks for posting.

The maf is the factory piece which has been rescaled in the software to work with the extra load. As far as the tuning goes we are doing that in house. The air filters are being made for us. We spec them out and ordered them. Initially it was a prototype for us and now they will be made.

Thanks for your remarks. It has been a lot of work and I wanted to offer something that would be *****ing and well thought out for hopefully everybody would like it. Thanks again!

How much to install in house?

IMA Motorsport Jan 8, 2010 08:15 PM

Installation

The installation cost is 1800.00 We have calculated about 16 to 18 hours for install. The average guy might take a little longer. Thanks for your interest

OK, interesting... BTW, does the DME see the intake pressure at all? Or in other words, is this only available for ME7.8, or can you convert ME7.2 also? How's the boost controlled, by DME, EBC or MBC?

Those could be handy in some other applications too.
