996 Vibration

I have a 1999 996, I purchased the vichele from a porsche dealership last june. The car has a strong vibration when I am in neutral, my indy told me it could be a problem with the balance of the engine. I took it to the dealership that gave me the warranty and they said it is standard for 99's. Has anyone encountered this problem before in 99's and is it only in this year?

Thank you

My 98, which should have the exact same enigne does not have vibrations anywhere in the rev-range.

Have not heard anyone with a 99 996 who has this problem, so its certainly not standard on this model.

Not sure what you mean. Is it rough at idle? or are you hearing noises when your in neutral? any metalic sound?.....No such problems with mine.

How many miles does it have? Sounds like mine before the IMS went out. Ant other issues?

Check engine mounts. Second, transmission mounts. If they are worn out, they get lower and the engine gets "out of alignment". Same for transmission. It can happen in older cars.
