CEL from cats
Would a CEL from having cat-bypass result in any performance issues

No the CEL is thrown from the downstream sensor that tells the engine that the emissions of the cats are not up to par and the cats need to be replaced....It is the UPSTREAM O2 sensors that the engine uses for running and performance.
