Installing a gt3 engine into a 996

I have a proposal by someone who wrecked their 2009 GT3 who wants to trade their engine and transmission and anything else I might want off the wreck. The question is, can I install these into my 99 996 cab or am I getting into something not worth while. FYI, the cost of the engine and the transmission is not the issue, I am just asking if it can be done and if I can tackle the task myself without having to do a bunch of custom fabrication - ie welding and such, which I will not do. But if it involves taking the old engine out and switching it out, then I think I'll take the new engine and store it for when I find the time to do the work. Thanks

at the very least you will need the computer and harness, non hydraulic clutch system, probably the dash console...the dry sump system and oil coolers, radiators..may need the lsd too...a lot easier and cheaper to get more horsepower modding what you have...sounds like a great idea that falls woefully short in the execution...this is assuming the engine and tranny will fit your cab without some chassis modification...motor mounts may also be different

If you decide not to pursue, please contact me @ pgiordano@etwd.com. I will buy the trans, engine, computer, & harness............................
