So is it posing to put a GT2 bumper on a turbo?
Or a GT3 bumper on a 996?
For that matter, doesn't the C4S come with a turbo bumper?

The turbo bumper, plain and simple, just looks better than the standard one. Get whatever bumper makes you happy. I find it annoying when people refer to the bumper swaps as "posing". The standard 996 bumper is kind of plain and the GT3, GT2, and the turbo noses add nicely to the appearance without making drastic changes to the car.

Till you start putting Turbo badges on your car or telling people it's a turbo, you're not posing. You're simply just putting a better looking bumper on your car.

i agree - bumper swaps are purely cosmetic most of the time rather than trying to be poser. I personally don't like turbo front bumpers on narrow bodies but to each their own. i put on the GT3 bumper and am really happy with the look - nothing drastically different but enough for me. i've also added the '02+ sideskirts which i think should come factory with the car. my car came from the dealer with the "carrera wing" - i agree that a fixed wing makes the car better looking. initially i hated the new GT3 wing - thinking it was too ricer but am growing more fond as each days goes by

now how's that for opinions for ya?!?!

BTW, there is a guy on Rennlist who added GT3 front bumper, sideskirts and GT3 rear wing. he even added the GT3 badge on back and always implied it was a GT3 but never actually said it. finally someone on the board confronted him about his car because he posted a pic of it and it had a rear window wiper. Well he fessed up - now THAT is a POSER. I asked him why he badged his car and he never responded

It's call the bumper and head lights delete mod. Definitely a new fad at Akkurat.

Costs a $1000 with parts trade in.

I agree 100% on the "what-ever makes you happy"......and it's what I also said.........but karlooz did ask for opins.
Truth is, the average person on the street has no opin or idea what a GT2 bumper is, (or even what a GT2 is)........but in the small inbred world of Porsche nuts, some of us are **** enough to have opinions on stuff like this. Maybe we're only 5% I don't know, but I do know that I'm not the only one on the planet that probably wouldn't put a bumper built for a GT2, on a Turbo. Anyway, there are other options....your imagination is the limet (or should be).

Now if a person believes the best thing they can do for the front of their car is put the front of another (slightly more expensive) car on it....great, they should do it (and on the the upside, it's one of the easiest things to do cause they're readily available, fit, etc, etc).
If they actually want opinions from others on cosmetic mods they make on their own car......there's no shortage of opins here, but it's always possible they might be 'annoyed' by some responces.
Kinda a good thing about the boards.....(ie, Porsche nuts spkg their mind) but that's just my opin .

Just the same....sorry for offending anyone with the poser comment......bumper swaps are great........but you have to admit, gotta think long and hard to recall anyone incorprating a panal from a slightly less expensive car into theirs......hey, I've done that .

No offense. Feel free to say you don't like it, but "posing" is a whole different comment. You didn't put a C2 bumper on your turbo, did you?
