those taillights are the new LED clear ones. They come in smoke and clear. I am getting mine in smoke. I have seen them on Ebay and some other sites as well.

Here is the link for the clear LED taillights. The price is close to $500 for the pair although I have seen cheaper.

those you see on my car are smoked. ranges from below $500 to around $600 per pair (plus shipping) on ebay, depending on who you feel is a trustworthy seller. even if they are smoked, they are pretty bright. and if you do get them, don't forget to do some reading on the LED light thread which gives details on the drawbacks and how to solve these issues.

Surely gonna make an even bigger (and better) difference.

That looks great and the wing def finishes it off. Are those X50 tips with the one hole opening on the bigger tip with the half tip closed off?

Did you have to do any pipe mods to make them fit within the older style('99-'01) rear bumper openings?

one hole goes into both the bigger tip and the half tip. got them from ebay. they were designed for the mk1 996, therefore, no modifications needed. they went straight in.

could you tell me what color or shade & how they done it, did they use a clear, etc... probably lot cheaper than ordering 2 smoked taillights, i think they look awesome! is that the same thing you did with headlights, if so, how could headlights shine thru paint.
