Pics from Tampa, FL 928 meet

Went to a 928 meet this morning. I can't believe that there were this many on the road in Tampa still running. There were around 15 that showed up for the meet at a german repair shop this morning in Tampa.

One of the guys had a hook at a local air museum and they agreed to let them take some pics out on the tarmac.

The cars were really clean and in great shape. Not a "mod" crowd like us though Most of the cars were stock with the exception of exhaust. And they sounded damn good I might add.

Really nice group of people. Those cars are no joke. As old as they are, they are still reallly fast... especially on the highway. We got in a few nice runs up on the interstate and the S4 models absolutely haul ***. Definate match for a C2 and probably a stock turbo up until 150 or so.

I went for a ride in one of my buddy's a couple months back. Totally different experience. That car was made to go sick fast on the highway in extreme comfort.

I can't comment enough on how good the exhaust sounds on these. If you closed your eyes, you'd swear you were hearing a hot rodded chevelle 454. Too cool. Can't believe porsche dropped this.

One of the guys, not in the pic, had a car that actually appeared at the frankfurt auto show way back when. He still had the window sticker. It was almost 100K, and that was close to 18 years ago, or something like that.

Always loved the 928 it was the euro vetter IMHO....I had a 1982 Euro for about a year in NY what a scream that car was it was a 5 speed and the throws were very long and the manual trannies were known to be ****, but when it shifted well it was a monster as it had no cats...and it made a nice growl...I stole it for 17k from a customer of mine and sold it a year later for 16k to another customer fo mine ( I had a car audio business in Fort Lee NJ)
