Pre Drive information for this Saturday - Bay Area

Tentative plans for the Frolic Pre Drive.

Departure time: 930am from Robyn’s house in Manteca. (Directions and address to be provided)

Routes taken:

99N to 88 heading East towards Jackson
ETA in Jackson – 1100am - Pay a visit to the Holiday Inn to confirm this is indeed a decent enough place to stay. (This is key, if a nice place to stay is not found, I give up on this venture! Actually, I will turn it into a day trip …somewhere!)

Lunch stop, depart at 1230pm for Pt 2

We head up Sutter Creek Road to Volcano.

We then take Rams Horn Grade to Shake Ridge which drops us near Cook’s Station.

From there, we turn back to 88, down through Pioneer and then we head South on 26, this is some great road!! We should arrive at this point at around 230pm.

From here we will then take Ridge Road which then soon turns into Jesus Maria Rd….however we will turn left at Rail Road Flat Rd following that until it turns into Sheep Ranch Road until it eventually hits Highway 4 just at Murphys. From here we take 4 to 49 across from Jamestown, connecting with 108 to 120 and on back to Manteca.

For anyone who is interested, after a long day’s drive, a few beers, some good wine and some BBQ. Otherwise we can adjourn for those who wish to head home to do so.

This drive is estimated to take us approximately 5-6 hours.

Keep in mind, this I am combining both days drive into one on roads I have not ventured upon. We are lucky enough to have someone join us who lives in the area and knows the roads, so we might be able to forego some of the driving with his blessing that the roads are good Porsche roads. I will provide maps for everyone…we will also make stops along the way. If you have an FRS, please bring it, otherwise I have a few extra.

Please email me for contact information, it is looking like it's going to be a fantastic weekend weatherwise.
