18's in the Front and 19's in the Rear

Has any one use this set up? Will it cause any performance issues?

Thanks

Don't think it will work... the computer will trip out due to difference in diameters between front and rear tires.

If you do the math and check tire sizes, the diameters to make sure they are within acceptable limits, the computer should not know what's going on. Having said that, I don't know if it would cause handling issues at high speed. The amount of flex in the tires would be different between the front and back.

I id would call your local dealer, and talk to a service guy they are usually pretty good

Why would you do this?

Because its Very Corvette'ish :P

If you are is RWD and no PSM you should be fine. Regardless just make sure Front and Rear Tires are Within 3% Diameter Diffrence

I assume better performance. I've seen several cars(not Porsche) with this set up / staggared look. Aesthetic wise, It would be a broader stance.

i believe Lotus Exige and Elise all run 1'' smaller front (ie. 16" front 17" rear)

as long as it is 3% difference in diameter you should be fine.

post some pics when you get it done tho ;)

corvettes...and even lambo....there's some really nice lambo's with 19/20 or 20/21 setup's ...go check out the lambo section
as long as the overall diameter's within spec...no problem...handlingwise? I don't know

I guess if you really wanted to you could do 225/40/18 in the front and 275/30/19 in the rear if you have a 996, if you have a 10.5 wide or more you can even do a 305/25/19 or 315/25/19 in the rear given an off-set of 50+

Remember, cars that come stock with larger rims at the rear are made for a setup like it - Porsches are not.

The 996 is not made to use 19" either but more than 50% of the guys are running 19"......

Making a point but ~ Yes the 997 comes stock with 19" but the 996 does not, the 997 is also designed to accept 26" OD on the wheels in the back where the 996 is 25 OD all the way around...

I see interesting hmmm... so do 19's throw off the grip and handling a little bit?
