I'm looking to purchase a 2002 996 but it has 98K miles. If I could get the car for $17K and a 5 year 100K mile powertrain warranty on the engine for $2400, is this a no brainer? Obviously my worries are a catastrophic engine failure. Anyone have any experience with Fidelity and porsches? Easy care said they wouldn't cover the car since it has more than 80K miles.

 

so you want to pay 2400 for 2k miles of coverage?!

 

I was under the impression that it was 5 years from purchase or 100K miles from the current odometer! I'm guessing this is sadly not the case...

 

I have fidelity on my 200 996 in i used it a few times with no problem

 

996s that are driven regularly and hard tend to turn out far more reliable. You shouldn't have any worries about your 996 going to 140k+ miles.
