Guys I know its not for Porsche, but I still found an interesting article and thought of this thread:

to be quite honest, i work for the gov't, and i have a lot of free time to surf the net all day. I use this time to find cheap maintanence items for my porsche. At the end of the day, it saves me money, and i find it interesting. If I had a very busy occupation, I totally wouldn't have time to shop around -- I would just go to porsche and pick up an OEM filter, or just have them do the oil change period.
You don't have to explain yourself.
At the end of the day, we all want to save money. Only fools pay retail everytime. For me it might be "cheapest OEM or OEM approved filter" vs. just any, like Fram which I won't do on my Porsche, but that's just me....
