Targa or Vert?

I am looking to get into a 996 (my first Porsche).

I have an opportunity to get a Targa.

The issue: I have always driven convertibles and I am concerned the targa is not a really good substitute.

Thoughts and comments on Targas vs. Verts.

If you are always driving and loving the convertibles, I'd say just buy a Convertible 996.

Targa is nice and unique, but it doesn't come close to convertible in term of open air feel.

I personally would go with Targa, but would recommand you to test drive the Targa and open the top. Feel it personally, then you can make your own decision.

A Targa is just an over sized sliding moon roof. It seems to me that you are into no roof. Get a vert.

Post

you dont have to slow down or stop to take the top down in a targa. also, my targa top is aways down - even in 40 degree weather
