Brake upgrade .
I would like to improve the braking of my carrera 2 345 hp, with discs front and rear amggiorati. I would not change the calipers with those of the turbo not to have to change too many pieces, someone produces front discs 330 340 28 mm thick, but like the original? At the rear you can mount the disks of turbo 4s without changing the calipers?
I'm not sure how changing just the rotors is really going to make a significant difference for you. If the pads and calipers can clamp the rotors you have now, then bigger rotors will still get the same area of pad and caliper contact if you don't change those too. So I would not expect a difference. If you don't want to change much, maybe just braided lines to replace your rubber hoses would help. I'm not a real big believer in this improvement though. Maybe better pads to suit your driving style would be better.
I'll tell you one thing that made a HUGE difference in my 1972 914 recently though - I completely flushed and changed the brake fluid.
Seriously though, Sport Compact Car did a comparo several years back of aftermarket brake calipers and they noticed that through their tests their braking distances kept getting shorter. In the end they switched back to the stock OEM brake calipers and got a HUGE improvement over what they started with! What was the difference? Quite simple, they had been changing the calipers and flushing the brake fluid with each change. By the end of the day the brake system had been thoroughly flushed and that change alone made more of a difference than anything. It's an interesting lesson that I've held onto for years now.
