Possibly the best day of my life.....

Possibly the best day of my life....period! Attended a track event at MSR courtesy of Momentum Porsche in Houston. Many Thanks to Diane Brown for hosting this awesome event! Drove a new Carrera S Cabriolet, a new Cayman and a new Cayenne...at speed...on a real race course. BTW, Cayennes on track are absolutely amazing! Try that in my previous Suburban. NOT!

Sooo...end of the day and it's hot lap time for owners who brought there own cars. I was able to wrangle a ride along in a very hot Orange and Black GT3R(S?). Insert name of extremely generous owner here who's name I forgot. Drivers meeting and they announced no passengers. Owner of said hot car asks he if I want to take it out on the track for hot laps. Guess what my response was and how quickly I said yes. Similar to my own 2004 Carrera only waaay faster and waaay better brakes! I never thought I would actually use OMG in a post, but I feel it it genuinely warranted. WOW!!!! Hopefully will have some pics and video to post soon.

BTW, anybody know the owner of this Orange and Black GT3? I think the car's nickname is the 'Evil Pumpkin'.

Lucky you! Alas, I don't know anyone nice enough to let me take their GT3 on the track.

Many thanks to Mark Speets for allowing me to drive his awesome Orange / Black GT3RS!
Some photos are on Diane Brown's Momentum Porsche's facebook page.

I got to do the same thing with 2010 Jags last year. My wife got to ride with THE Davey Jones. How awesome was that. I had some guy named Brad. Brad was NOT going to let Davey catch us. All I can say is that I drove the car like a 1000 year old lady compaired to these guys. Awesome time. I just want to know how often MSR has events like this.
I know Joerg Bergmeister (Flying Lizard) was there a few weeks back.

I drove Mark's GT3 RS very conservatively. The factory cars....like I stole them. WOOOHOOO!!!!

I rode along with one of the leaders in a Cayenne S. He was pissed that another GT3RS driver passed him (BIG NO-NO). He casually drove with one hand, at speed, around the course, while phoning the offender in on his cell.
