Assistance Needed - CEL After Spark Plug Change

1999 C2 (standard)

I changed my plugs and tubes 2 days ago, and the car has been running great. This morning, about 20 min into my drive I went to pass and the car sputtered a bit, and the CEL came on. Checked out the codes, P0134 which is the 02 sensor, and P0302 (cylinder #2 misfire). I checked all of the connections and they seemed to be okay. To trouble shoot, I took the #2 cylinder coil and moved it to #1. Took it for a test drive and had the same problem, sputtering when I get on it. Checked the codes again, and the same codes were noted. My questions are :

1. Would a loose connection to the coil pack cause this (P0302 code)?
2. If the o2 sensor is bad would my symptoms be; sputtering when I get on it?
3. If the problem didn't follow the coilpack, would it be that I have a bad plug in #2?
4. Would the o2 going bad cause a fault with cyclinder #2, and or vise versa?

Any help would be appreciated!!! Thank you!

Sounds like you got a bad spark plug, try switching it to another cylinder.

Update: Changed #2 spark plug, same thing. If the o2 sensor is bad would I get the same symptoms i.e. sluggish/sputtering when I get on it?

you could try putting some dielectric grease in the #2 coil and checking if the #2 plug is gapped correctly. the sputtering could be due to arcing in the coil pack (dielectric grease would help with this) or the pack being bad. To test if the coil is bad, try putting it on another cylinder and putting a known good pack on #2. If the pack is bad the misfire will follow the coil pack.

99.999% this problem is due to the coil pack. You didn't mention how many miles on the car/current coil packs, but they don't last anywhere near forever! The O2 sensor code is due to the misfire...unburned fuel going out the exhaust. No biggie and not an expensive fix
