Parts For 996 Gearbox's?

this isn't a wanted/for sale thread. There are no internal parts available through the dealer and souces in Germany are scarce.
I intimately familiar with gearbox's and reman a ton of 911 units from early to 962. I don't need service INFO. I need a source for buying gears and stuff. These units are Audi and there are a variety of reasons why they are not made available to us,, however, I don't care about that. I just want internal parts, even if they are broken cases from collisions-thanks Mark-FORMULA MOTORSPORTS

The reason I ask is because in the Feb Pano someone is selling a Boxster S gearbox with a cracked case ("perfect cond") up the road from you in White Plains.

If you figure out how to rebuild the 996/boxster S gear box I think you will find a hugh market in the future as these cars age, right now you can only buy a complete reman unit from porsche for about 8k. If you could do a reman for around 2k, then I think you will be a very busy guy....

This has certainly peaked my interest...gotta say that I ran across this a few years ago, however every car was under warranty then....not now...really pissed me off though as I gave the owner a great price for the repair (cheap) AND I disassemble the transaxel, not ever thinking about it....anyway, I have a ton of options such as simply put it back in and let the dealer network gang rape him. Don't thing I'll do that...ha ha...well jury is still out and I'm slowly getting into it...we'll just see what happens-thanks Mark
