Post Early Model 996---MFG 1/1998?

So I met up with a P-car owner and as we were talking it came up that his 996 had a mfg date on the door of Jan 1998. Out of curiosity, anyone know if this makes it worth more? Is it a Euro Spec car? It is left hand drive, US gauge cluster...no differences other then its mfg date. Title and registration say 1999. I thought maybe this would be a rare find...

Anyone know anything about this?

There was actually 14 996's produced in model year 97 that were sent to Brazil and yes there was many 996's produced in 98. There was about 30 Cup Cap 996's built in 98 which I would definitely think are worth some $$$ and came with 3.4 litre 320hp engines.

01/98 does sound early for a US spec MY99. My US spec MY99 is 05/98

when you say Cup Cap... was that a non-street model? did they have the x51 3.4 motor? or just special tuning from the factory...
