Headers FVD VS SUPERSPRINT
Headers FVD VS SUPERSPRINT
I am looking for buying headers for my 4s. Looking the net and see that FVD and supersrint is very similar look the photos. why pay double for the superssprints...
I've heard good things about the FVDs but SS quality was excellent on the exhaust I had previously (not on a P-car). The 4S has different headers from a standard C2. They look more like x51. Well at least mine do. Might be more performance gained by high flow cats... Just my 0.02
Stavroskon,
The 2 key elements to a good header is the tube length and the merge collector. While I can't speak for the Supersprint headers I can tell you that the pipe length seems to be very similar between the 2 from the photos. The FVD headers have a pyramid style merge collector to smooth out the exhaust flow going into the cats. Headers are really for mid range torque. If you ask me, that is just what a 3.6L 996 motor needs more of. You will see torque gains betwen 10-15 NM between 2,500 - 4,800 rpms. Then you will also get about 10+ hp in the higher rpm range as you have freed up more exhaust backpressure.
