I came across another option, especially for cabs and situations where you need the rear space(kids, groceries, stuff, etc) on cabs.

Thinking this could be good if you're significant other isn't too tall. 10" sub accomodation with 0.65 internal space is quite a bit flexible and within the range of a lot of popular 10" subs out there like JL Audio. Wiring would be a breeze too needing a very short and easy run from the trunk.

I tried this option, in fact from the same seller. I had ordered it in gray but they sent me the enclosure in black. Not a big problem, I could have it recarpeted. The problem was the enclosure did not fit right, it butted up against the air outlet. I wanted it to work out so bad as I wanted a 10" but it just didn't work. The good thing is the seller did take the enclosure back and refunded my money. Perhaps it may work out for someone else but on my 03 C4 Cab it did not.

I didn't even think of that. I guess that would be a deal breaker for most although the 10" option is sweet.

I am currently working on a design for a box for the rear that holds 2 8" subs and fits in the front for storage.

Keep you posted

hi, i expect you found him already, but if you didn't, take a look at what rod at car audio innovations does. he's done the stereo/subs in may last two 911s (a 993 cab and a 996 cab). he has a pretty sleek, low profile fiberglass box that fits in the rear footwell(s), doesn't hold 8s though. he wraps in porsche carpet etc so it all matches perfectly. he'll do the install, or just sell you the box, or sell you the box + subs etc etc. plus he's a great guy to deal with and has very reasonable prices.

- cheers, alan

edited: just checked his site again, and his enclosures now do fit the 8s, so check it out. they look pretty good too. maybe it's time for me to upgrade.....
