Had a porsche dealer try to sell me oem rims..but surprizingly
he said that oem are forged?? That cant be right can it?
I thought they were just cast not even low cast production
anyone have thought on aftermarket wheels that are low cast..what ever that means..like the avant garde.and now wheeldynamics has a techart rep made the same way..are they better than regular cast or even oem

flow formed cast wheels:

flow formed wheels are generally lighter. i don't think there is any difference in durability or strength. personally, i have seen both regular cast and flow formed cast wheels crack/break.

forged wheels are generally lighter, and definitelly stronger. when possible, forged is better, but more expensive.

it seems you have been searching for wheels for quite some time.

 

I have a set of oem 18 " Chrome wheels, they need re-finishing. I don't know where you are located but I'll sell them for a reasonable price. I am in the pacific northwest....and I need to get them out of my garage.

 

...some OE wheels are forged... and others are low pressure cast.

If too pricey, or not your cup of tea, buy some forged BBS wheels...
