I like to know if I can change my own oil. Do I have to reset the computer?

Changing oil on a 996 on a scale of 1-10 is 4. Myself being mechanically challenged I've changed oil about 4 times without any problems. Just make sure you get that tool to loosen up the oil filter canister. (Not sure on the official name of the canister) I believe the hex nut is 8mm to loosen the oil plug...Take a look at this link..Helped out a lot!

Good luck..Oh yeah, buy your oil in those larger containers (3 gallon jugs) cheaper than the quart size ones...Walmart if they carry it..

 

Not my research but I have read someone contacted Mobil about 0-40w in the jugs and they do NOT make it.

 

Wonder why?? Just look out for them when they go on sale. I scored several cases on sale awhile back at Kragen. GL
