Torn Cab Top fabric spring holder?

Just purchased an 2002 C2 Cab and the sides of the top were not aligning in the track when closing. I realized their was a piece of fabric loose above the window on the passenger side inside the top. When I looked at driver side realized it was attached to the spring and the passenger side had torn away. Top is in great shape otherwise except it requires manual intervention to close properly. Anyone come across this and have a good fix? I assume I will need to try and sew it back on and then reattach the spring to both sides.

Thanks for your help. This forum is great and I have spent many hours reading about fixes and mods.

Tom

If the top doesn't open and close properly it my be low on hydraulic fluid. Check out renntech.org for a good DIY. Very easy to do.

Had the same issue. Found the torn piece stapled it again and then wrapped in ducktape. Totally amateur but it's worked for over a year and corrected the issue. I'm surprised at how flimsy it was as it's the only way to keep the top in line over the rear windows.

Thanks. I actually sewed it and all is good. Hopefully for a long time.
