I need help with my new Adaptive Sport Seats, which I purchased from a 997. Now everything works (Electric adjustment of fore/aft position, seat height, seat bottom angle, seat back angle), but I cannot make adjustable side and shoulder bolsters to work. This was almost primary reason to buy those seats for my 996. Is there anyone, who can help me in this case?

Nor sure but I would think that you would have to use a wiring harness adaptor of some type.

The plug for the side bolsters would have no power going to them as the 996 did not have that option.

Have you tried searching RennTech?

Yes, I did same request also on Renntech. Thanks for helping me. Maybe if I find the electrical scheme of them, my electrician can work this out.

You might check with some vendors like Vivid or Suncoast and see if they have any input.

I think it will require a custom wiring job. The wiring harness in the 996 and 997 is built for each specific car. In other words, seats from another 996 with different equipment will not work properly when transferred into a different car.

Keep us posted please, very interested in solution if you make it work.

I just came across the wiring info on Rennlist recently. Do a search for 997 seats and you should come across it.

IIRC, the 997 seats have their own control module on the seat itself. You pretty much have to cannibalize it and solder up the proper 12v wiring directly to all the points that control all the motors/solenoids.

Any competent electronic technician with a Fluke should be able to troubleshoot it and wire it up.

Thanks again to all for helping me out. My electrician allready pulled out the memory box and wired all again. As I said everything works, except this adjustable side and shoulder bolsters, which was my primary reason to buy them... On Monday, I will ask my electrician, what is the main reason and I will post it.

It is not that easy. If you are in buying those seats, buy instead of them normal 997 sport seats, because it was, from what I heard from electricians who did it, very hard. It also cost me too much time and money. If I knew it before, I would not do it again. But that is just my opinion.

Lol, far from it.

Basic functions like forward and others are easy. Problem begins with adjustable side and shoulder bolsters. This is the problem zone.

I got it 95 % done. Only the lordose on driver side will not work, everything others is in function. So I would say I got it. But as I said before : better buy normal 997 sport seats and be happy with them if you are really into changing.
