Replacement Tires

I have always used Bridgestone Potenza RE050A's on my 911, and they are now out of production, being replaced by the S0-4's, Looking into other options, basically Bridgestone are very pricy. Please let me know which of these 4 you like, or post a comment.

1. Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08

2. Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110

3. Sumitomo HTR Z III*****CORRECT TIRE

4. Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position

Why no Sumitomo HTR Z III in your poll? They are awesome, quiet, sticky and will leave you $$$ in your pocket to go out to dinner in your 911.

+1

I've heard nothing but bad things about the Sumi HRT Z II. The Z III is a great tire in terms of bang for your buck.

When I got my 996 I had my local dealer do a PPI on it. After the initial work done (flushing, headlight switch) he told me about a tire warranty, safe-guardproducts.com.

$700 for 5 yrs protection.

I didnt get it, but i have been totaling my tire costs for the past 2+ years and 24k mi. Way over $700. In fact, a set a rears can run to $800.

The way the warranty works with my dealer is by written Porsche rules. that is, tires are not patched. They are replaced. and, if the opposite tire is worn to less that 3/16ths, it has to be replaced. and, if the fronts are N1s which are not made any more, then they get replaced with N3s or N4s.

As part of my spring maintence (clutch replacement) i am going to get this warranty. After all the world is a very dangerous place for 295s. Lots of nails out there guys and gals!!!

Sumi HTRZ III's! Best band for the buck. BTW: not to highjack, here, but I have a set of Potenza RE050A Pole Positions (18") I would love to sell ($375.00 obo). They came off a set of HRE wheels I bought. If your interested, let me know, I can get you pix and sizes. They were prodiced in 06, tho......let me know.

Not so sure I can pm you, as I don't have enough posts in here. Do you ever go to rennlist.com? Info is there, or send me an e-mail. law dot kellerpc @ verizon dot net and I will send you info and pix. Tread depth is 8/32nds on all of them.
