I cannot send a PM Thklinge as I do not have enough posts or something ?

I did put a link here earlier but its disapeared so I guess its not allowed, as I said in previous post it could have something to do with Copyright issues so i can see there point.
if you have an e mail address then put it up here & i will send you the link to where I bought mine from & the short video of it working.Or if you are able to PM me with it then do that ,cheers Thklinge

Still think your set up is cool no matter what other's may think

You get some planks here ...

Please excuse my ignorance but I'm wondering if the $28 PIWIS cable works on it's own or does it require software/disk. If it need software/disk, does it come with the cable for $28. I need to clear my airbag light and nobody close can do it.

Great thread. I have a cayman and only need it to reset airbag light and service light as the closest dealership is over 2 hours away.

Dennish

I found these guys through another thread:
http://www.ecutool.com/Porsche-PIWIS-Cable_1677.html?source=linkshare&siteID=je6NUbpObp Q-RkKZDjL7MDdbQSSliffNYw#4

On the page, they have a download section for the software

sweet! thanks sandman.
I've installed it on my laptop, its version 3.0.15.0.
Anyone have version 4 or an early version of 5?

Thanks!

Has anyone actually purchased and used the Chinese PIWIS knockoff from Ecotools (they provide software download on their site)? Does the cable/software download work to clear airbag light. I would like a definitive answer so I don't have to drive 200 miles to dealer or buy $300 Durametric or waste the purchase price on something that doesn't work.

Ecutools are actually out of stock. They have not updated their stock, so you will wait maybe 4 weeks to get a cable.

As for email, please send me the link as to where you bought your durametric compatible cable. orcristlogger@yahoo.com

looks like it is back in stock. I sent them an email and they said my order is on its way- hopefully it works as promised bc I am getting tired of looking at the airbag light. Its almost worth it to me at this point to make the 3 hour drive to the nearest porsche dealer just to reset the light
