wheel fitment question

just purchased Techart rims...8.5 x 18 front w 235 40 18

rear 10.5 x 18 with 295 30 18

i have a set of eagle f1 with 200 miles on them and want to use them but they are about 10mm smaller on each...will too much rim show?? will it look bad?? or even dangerous

want to replace with 225 40 18 and 285 30 18

The 285 should mount without issues. The 225 on an 8.5 rim is pushing the envelope. Nonetheless, it should mount safely. Though, I would expect a 1/4" gap between the bead of the tire and the bead of the rim.

It should look fine for both, I dont think you will have a problem with the rim being exposed on the 8.5 rim.

225/40/18 on a 8.5in rim

they will fit but be a little narrow for the wheel, that will wear them a little faster

I run 225's on 18.5's on the front. It'll vary a little depending on manufacturer but with kumho's...they are fine but do look a little funky...
